Besides the sideways reference to the prog rock hit by Yes, isn’t my composition title a nice little pun? A piano composition in traditional Rondo form, which keeps coming back around to a central theme: “Rondo B’out”. Sometimes I’m too dang clever for my own good.
I haven’t any idea whether I’ll get this piece done any time soon. There’s been a lot of things going on around the house, and writing for solo piano requires a LOT of effort on my part. But I’ve put out a quick 1.5 minute shot at the opening theme and the very short start of a B section. If any of y’all are actual pianists, I’d be happy to shoot you a PDF of what I have so far, and you can tell me if I’m aimed at anything a pianist would like to play and listen to. I’m reasonably pleased so far, but the work is sooooo slow! Slower, for me, than my previous work, which was for a full orchestra!
A bit of a side note about the graphics — Microsoft completely reworked their AI image generation capabilities, and, in the process, wiped out the stuff I’d most enjoyed getting out of it. (See this image for a cluster of images generated for my dance suite — I really liked them!) I did use it for this one, but it didn’t go at all the way I wanted it to. I may try another — have been playing with them for other reasons.
Anyway, have a listen, it’s short, and ends suddenly…
