George Ella Lyon and I chatted, and she’s OK with me posting her lyric set through a score video on YouTube. So here we are! The details….
- Completed May 15, though I made small changes and improvements through June.
- Lyrics: George Ella supplied the lyrics from a work read for 2020’s Lexington Chamber Chorale 30th Anniversary celebration. Read about that on the project page here.
- “Performance” (below) is, as usual at this juncture, a software export, so it sounds machine-like — you’ll only “hear” the lyrics by reading them on the score as it passes.
- Graphics: I commissioned my granddaughter Audrey Clay Marks to provide a black-and-white pen drawing (based on an AI-generated image) as the art for the web presence, video, and score. (Uh, proud grandpa! Contact me if you’d like to see more of her. She’s good!)
- Real Performance: If you want to hear real singers perform this work, put Sunday, Oct. 12, 5:00 PM on your calendar. Get advanced tickets from the LCC website here. If I get a recording of the live concert, I’ll post it here.
Here’s the project page with even more detail.
